A massage therapist from Canoga Park won a quarter-million dollars and already has some life-changing plans for the money.
Tracy Evans usually only wagers $1 per MEGA Millions draw, but she “had a feeling” about this draw and went back to the retailer and purchased an additional $5 worth of tickets. The fourth wager on that $5 ticket was the winner, earning her $252,588.
A few days before her big win, Evans had registered for nursing school, and she says her newfound wealth will allow her to “go to school and not worry about [paying for] it.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Chatsworth Liquor, which is located at 21615 Devonshire Street in Chatsworth. The ticket matched five of six numbers 42, 2, 9, 14, 37 – and missed only the Mega number of 41.
