Dana Waller purchased a MEGA Millions ticket to kick off a short vacation getaway for his one year anniversary. He returned this weekend to find he’d successfully matched five out of six numbers and won a $617,688 prize.
A long-time MEGA Millions and SuperLotto Plus® player, Waller’s luck in love brought good fortune when one out of the 20 MEGA Millions quick picks he purchased came up a big winner. “I didn’t believe it was real. At first I thought I’d won $6,000,” Waller said.
The winning ticket was sold at Rotten Robbie service station, which is located at 124714 Herperian Boulevard in Hayward. The ticket successfully matched the numbers 5, 33, 13, 23 and 20, missing only the Mega number of 30.
Waller and wife plan to spend wisely. “Money doesn’t last forever,” he astutely pointed out. With their winnings, they plan to buy a house, take care of family and invest in growing their businesses.
