As a mother to three adopted children, all Rosalie Tumminaro wishes for, is to be able to leave something for her children when she’s gone. Call it luck or an act of fate, Rosalie’s wish came true in a very big way.
Rosalie is a huge fan of Scratchers® tickets, but her absolute favorite is the High Roller Poker ticket – so much so that she even calls it her “lucky card.” Rosalie was at her local supermarket when she put money into a Scratchers vending machine to buy her “lucky card.” She said that the machine made a sound like it was dispensing the ticket, but for some odd reason, it never came out. She admitted she was a little disappointed, but she reluctantly opted for her second choice, which happened to be the $10 Bonus Crossword Scratchers game. After unveiling 10 lucky words, Rosalie might now have a new “lucky card,” because that Bonus Crossword ticket was worth $750,000!
Rosalie has dedicated a big part of her life to helping kids. Not only is she a proud mother to three adopted children, but she has been a foster mother for over 20 years. Her son Patrick, who accompanied her to the Lottery’s Sacramento District Office to claim her ticket, said that his mom is just the type of person who helps everyone else before herself. He told us a story about his mother paying for her neighbor’s dog to get a rabies shot when the neighbor couldn’t afford it.
Rosalie told us that she just bought a new house and hopes to use her winnings to pay it off so that she can leave it to her kids. We asked Rosalie if she wanted to do anything nice for herself, and she said all she wants is some new clothes and to get her hair done.
Rosalie bought her ticket at the Safeway located at 9080 Brooks Road in Windsor (Sonoma County).
