Rebecca Williams is somewhat a creature of habit. Every Wednesday and Saturday, she buys Lottery tickets for her and her husband of 45 years and usually lets him scratch them, or vice-versa. And they don’t just buy any tickets – they are only in it for the big money, the draw games with multi-million dollar jackpots and Scratchers® with big top prizes. This explains why they recently purchased Lucky for Life. With that $1 investment, they won the game’s top prize of $650,000 and plan to take the payments of $500 a week for 25 years.
The couple, who are both retired, say that this prize will just make life a little more comfortable now. They plan to put most of it into savings each week, except for the amount they need for their annual vacation, which is to Maui this year!
Williams purchased her winning Lucky for Life Scratchers ticket at Hollister Liquor, which is located at 310 First Street in Hollister (San Benito County). This retailer is located across town, but the Williams really like the owners, so they make the five minute trek to go to their store (Hollister is a small place).
