SCRATCHERS 2ND CHANCE FAQS

Problems Signing in or Submitting Entries

What do I do if I forgot my password?

Resetting your password is easy. Just click the “Sign in” like normal, and hit “Forgot Password”. Next, enter the email address you used to create your account and we’ll email you a link to reset your password.

If you don’t remember the email address used, please call Customer Service toll-free at 1(800)-LOTTERY.

When I try to submit entries, I get transferred back to the login page. What should I do?

Some firewalls or security settings on your personal computer (PC) or network may prevent you from logging in successfully. For example, your PC setting must be enabled to receive cookies. Another potential problem is having too many applications open, as they may interfere with the log in process.

Changing Personal Information

How do I update my email address or other personal information?

Revising or updating the information on your account is easy. Just sign in, go to the "My Profile" page. After you make changes to any part of your profile, including updating your email address, mailing address, password, etc. – just click "Save". If you update your email address, we will send you a verification email. Don't see the verification email in your inbox? Check your junk/spam folder and add us to your Safe Senders List.

Questions About Entries and Tickets

Can I enter a drawing more than one time?

Yes. You can enter a drawing as many times as you wish. However, be aware of the code submission limitation policy and the code from a specific Scratchers ticket can only be entered once.

Will entries be accepted after the deadline for a Scratchers End of Game draw?

Once a specific End of Game draw entry deadline has passed, Scratchers tickets for that game can no longer be entered into any 2nd Chance draw.

How can I see my ticket entries?

All of your ticket entries are stored in your account and on the "My Submissions" page.

How can I be sure that my previously entered tickets have been submitted?

A record of all previously submitted ticket entries appears on the "My Submissions" page. If the entry record is there, you can be assured that it is in the system.

May I throw away the tickets after I’ve entered them into Scratchers 2nd Chance?

Here's our advice: You, the player, are ultimately responsible for the codes you’ve submitted into 2nd Chance. If there is ever a question regarding one of your codes, we think it’s better to have the physical codes in your possession. We recommend you keep your tickets/codes until the 2nd Chance draw for that particular game has concluded. However, throwing away your tickets does not disqualify you from any drawing, and it's not required that you have the original ticket to claim any 2nd Chance prize, but we’d rather you be safe than sorry! Also, did you know that all Scratchers tickets are recyclable?

Can I mail in my non-winning tickets to enter into the drawings?

No. Mail-in entries are not accepted for the Scratchers 2nd Chance program.

When did the code submission limitation policy go into effect?

The policy started October 1, 2012.

Why did the Lottery set limits on 2nd Chance submissions?

We see this as leveling the playing field. Every day we do what we can to ensure the integrity of all our games, including 2nd Chance. But, some players have an unfair advantage when they enter thousands of codes on a variety of games. That means they have the upper hand and that’s unfair to everybody else. The high number of tickets entered into our 2nd Chance Program could also be an indication of problem gambling. As good corporate citizens, we have an innate responsibility to reach out to our valued players who may have a gambling problem and capping the number of entries is a step in the right direction. We should also remind anybody who thinks they have a gambling problem, or who knows somebody with a gambling problem to call the Problem Gambling hotline at 1-800-GAMBLER.

How will the code submission limitation policy be enforced?

For codes submitted prior to October 14, 2013, the Lottery will access accounts when draws are set to happen and make sure that the winners in each draw have not exceeded 1,000 total submissions in any calendar month. If the selected winner has entered more than 1,000 codes in any month after October 1, 2012 and before October 14, 2013, that person and their entries will be disqualified and an alternate will be selected. After October 14, 2013, the 2nd Chance system will not allow any player to submit more than 1,000 codes per month.

If I enter a code that’s eligible for three different draws, does that count as three of my 1,000 monthly entries?

No. The Lottery will only count total ticket codes submitted for the month. So, if you enter a code that's eligible for an End of Game AND a Pool Draw, that only counts as one of your 1,000 monthly submissions.

Can I enter 1,000 Scratchers 2nd Chance codes, 1,000 Fantasy 5 - 2nd Chance codes, and 1,000 SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes?

No. The limit applies to a combined total of all submissions – whether it’s all Scratchers 2nd Chance, all Fantasy 5 - 2nd Chance, all SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance or a combination of the three. Every code you submit counts toward your monthly limit of 1,000.

How will I know how many ticket codes I’ve already submitted?

Your Lottery account shows you, real time, how many codes you’ve entered for the month, so you’ll be able to know when you’re getting close to the limit. The system will stop you from submitting more than 1,000 codes during the month.

What if I’m a Jackpot Captain or play as part of a group?

The same limits apply for groups. The group will still only be able to input 1,000 ticket codes per month.

Questions About Winners

How do I find out if I’m a winner?

Approximately 2 weeks after each drawing, winners' names and hometowns are posted on the "Results & Winners" page following the winners' validation. Winners will receive an email directing them to sign into their Lottery account. Once signed in, winners receive a notification that includes a link to the claim form needed to claim the prize. Also, winning information will be on your "My Account" page.

How are Scratchers 2nd Chance winners selected?

Winners are randomly selected from all entries received for each drawing. Drawings are conducted according to established Lottery protocols under the observation of an independent Certified Public Accounting firm.

What are my chances of winning a 2nd Chance draw?

Your odds of winning vary based on total number of entries received for a drawing and total number of entries that you have submitted.
