Mega Millions® Jackpot Win Update
SACRAMENTO – We know there is widespread interest in this story, so we want to update you on the status of the California Mega Millions jackpot winner. As of yet, the person/persons who purchased the winning ticket at a gift shop in San Jose have not come forward to claim their prize. And what a prize! The jackpot for the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, December 17 was a revised $648 million.
The California ticket holder shares that prize with another jackpot winner in Georgia. Split between the two tickets, it comes to a total of $324 million per winning ticket. The cash equivalent for each ticket was $173.8 million before taxes.
The winning ticket was sold at Jennifer’s Gift Shop, which is located at 1818 Tully Road #154B in San Jose (Santa Clara County). This ticket successfully matched the numbers 8, 20, 14, 17, 39, and the Mega number 7. The owner, Thuy Nguyen, who says he bought his store only four months ago, is also receiving a $1 million retailer bonus just for selling the lucky ticket!
