SACRAMENTO, August 8, 2000 -- Lottery officials announced the estimated SuperLotto Plus jackpot for Wednesday night's draw at $44 million. "This $44 million jackpot is the largest we've had since February, what a wonderful way to wrap up the summer," said Lottery Director, Joan Wilson. "Not only are Californians excited about this jackpot, but we at the Lottery are excited about our public schools who will receive $25 million from this jackpot and its five rolls."

A single jackpot winner of $44 million who chooses the 26 graduated annual payments would receive nearly $1.1 million the first year and those payments would graduate to $2.24 million by the 26th year (before taxes). A single jackpot winner who chose the cash option would receive the estimated cash value which is roughly half the announced jackpot or about $22 million (before taxes).

SuperLotto Plus can be played at more than 18,000 retail business establishments around the state. The SuperLotto Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players can purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
