Winning MEGA Millions® Ticket Sold in South El Monte Worth $542K

SACRAMENTO – A lucky California Lottery player who bought their ticket in South El Monte is now more than a half million dollars richer. Their ticket matched five of six numbers in last night’s MEGA Millions draw, making that ticket worth $542,181.

The winning ticket was purchased at Superior Super Warehouse, which is located at 1858 North Durfee Avenue. The winning numbers on the ticket were 52, 26, 28, 37, 19 and the Mega number – the only number the ticket did not match – was 18. No one matched all six numbers in last night’s draw, which means Tuesday night’s jackpot will be worth an astounding $191 million.

The California Lottery reminds each winner to sign the back of their ticket, keep the ticket in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.

MEGA Millions is a multi-state game, played in California and 37 other states. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a Mega number from 1 to 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s MEGA Millions site for more information.

The California Lottery is celebrating 25 years of enhancing education and supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since the Lottery’s inception in 1985, Lottery players have contributed more than $22 billion to California schools out of total sales of nearly $59 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.8 billion in compensation since 1985.
