Daily Derby® Ticket Sold in San Diego Worth More Than a Half-Million Dollars!

SACRAMENTO – Race to check your Lottery tickets if you live in the San Diego area. Someone bought a Daily Derby ticket there and it hit. That one ticket matched all three winning horses and the final race time to win a $558,066 prize!

The winning ticket was sold at the APRO service station located at 6839 Imperial Avenue in San Diego. The winning horses were: 1st place – 07 – Eureka; 2nd place – 08 – Gorgeous George; and 3rd place – 06 Whirl Win. The winning race time was 1:48.46.

Daily Derby combines the fun and excitement of horse racing with several ways to win, including the chance to win twice on a single ticket. This unique game was the first horse racing-themed game in the U.S. played on regular Lottery terminals. The game can be played at any of the Lottery’s 21,000 retailers by selecting three horses from a field of 12; one to finish 1st, one to finish 2nd, one to finish 3rd; and a race time.

Lottery players can pick their horses before 6:30 p.m. for the current day’s draw. The Daily Derby draw is held at approximately 6:35 p.m., at which time you can get winning information from your retailer’s terminal, or you can visit the Lottery’s website at for the results.

The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.

And remember, checking the daily draw results is easier than ever. All past and current Lottery draw results can be obtained for FREE by dialing 1-800-LOTTERY and selecting option 2, or via our website at

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 96 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
