Winning MEGA Millions® Ticket Sold in Escalon Claimed
SACRAMENTO – Josue Oceguera had just celebrated the New Year and was having dinner the following Sunday when he remembered he had bought a MEGA Millions ticket for January 4th draw. When the self-employed consultant checked his ticket and realized he won the $572,376 prize, he said, “My girlfriend said I turned green and I started shaking. It just seems surreal!”
Oceguera bought his lucky ticket at Mar-Val Main Street Market #8, which is located at 1900 McHenry Avenue in Escalon (San Joaquin County), where he is a regular customer. He let the computer pick his numbers that successfully matched the winning numbers of 2, 23, 55, 25, and 1, missing only the Mega number of 39.
Oceguera plans to buy a home, invest, and start a college fund for his son.
The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their ticket, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
