L.A. County Woman Turns Good Feeling Into a Fortune
SACRAMENTO – Lorena Lemos was debating whether to purchase a $1,000,000 Fortune Scratchers® ticket, but when the clerk told her there were still a bunch of winners out there and that she had to play, Lemos was done debating. In fact, Lemos told the clerk “OK, I feel it!” That good feeling was still in full effect as Lemos strolled into the California Lottery’s Santa Fe Springs District Office holding a $1,000,000 Fortune Scratchers ticket worth – you guessed it, $1 million!
Lemos told us that as soon as the clerk told her she needed to play, she really felt like she was going to win. She was so confident in fact, that she didn’t even bother scratching off the winning numbers on the ticket. Lemos explained to us that she just scratched the bottom of the ticket to reveal the barcode and proceeded to scan her ticket. That’s some confidence for ya. She of course scratched the rest of the ticket off once she saw her prize amount appear on the screen. We asked Lemos what she planned on doing with her winnings, and she told us that she wants to invest her money, but she would also like to donate some money to her son’s school where she spends a lot of her time volunteering.
Lemos bought her winning ticket at K + T Donuts, which is located at 15747 East Imperial Way Boulevard in La Mirada (Los Angeles County). K+T Donuts gets a $5,000 bonus, just for selling the winning ticket.
