Contestants on “The Big Spin®” Win More Than $160,000


SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players from across the state won a total of $162,500 on “The Big Spin®” show that aired Saturday, December 18, 2004.

Nancy Ward, a homemaker from Van Nuys, purchased her Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at Bob’s Liquor in Northridge and uncovered Spin-Spin-Spin when she scratched it. After spinning the largest lottery wheel in the world, Ms. Ward won $60,000, and said, “It was awesome to spin the wheel and I plan to take a vacation with my winnings.”

Chris Barker Jr., a retail manager from Los Angeles, was the only contestant on this week’s show to play “Fantasy 5 Dream  Machine.” Mr. Barker, who won $50,000, purchased his ticket at Al’s Liquor in Los Angeles, and said, “It was exciting to be here at the show! I’m going to use this money to take my family to Disney World!”

From the “Aces High” round, David Kenner, a respiratory therapist from Antelope won the right to spin the wheel. Mr. Kenner, who bought his Big Spin Scratchers® ticket at a The Cigarette Store #12 in West Sacramento, spun the wheel for $30,000! “I totally did not expect to get to spin the wheel. I’m happy with this win,” said Kenner.
