The winning ticket was purchased at the APRO service station located at 6839 Imperial Avenue in San Diego.
Ashby told us that he plans on helping out his family with his winnings, and he’d also like to buy himself a new car.
Daily Derby combines the fun and excitement of horse racing with several ways to win, including the chance to win twice on a single ticket. This unique game was the first horse racing-themed game in the U.S. played on regular Lottery terminals. The game can be played at any of the Lottery’s 21,000 retailers by selecting three horses from a field of 12; one to finish 1st, one to finish 2nd, one to finish 3rd; and a race time.
Lottery players can pick their horses before 6:30 p.m. for the current day’s draw. The Daily Derby draw is held at approximately 6:35 p.m., at which time you can get winning information from your retailer’s terminal, or you can visit the Lottery’s website at www.calottery.com/winningnumbers/ for the results.
The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
And remember, checking the daily draw results is easier than ever. All past and current Lottery draw results can be obtained for FREE by dialing 1-800-LOTTERY and selecting option 2, or via our website at www.calottery.com.
The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 96 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation.
