Nor Cal Man Wins $250,000 Scratchers® Prize

Jose Sandoval jackpot winner

SACRAMENTO – Jose Sandoval was all smiles as he walked into the Lottery’s Sacramento District Office holding a winning California Lottery Black Scratchers ticket. He was smiling even more as he held his oversized check which had his prize of $250,000 written on it.

When asked what he would like to do with his winnings, Sandoval said he plans on using the money to buy a house and also put some away for a rainy day.

Sandoval purchased his winning ticket at Country Market, which is located at 10476 West Linne Road in Tracy (San Joaquin County).

The California Lottery Black Scratchers ticket is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for education. The oversized ticket features an almost all black motif and, in total, offers 20 top prizes of $250,000. To play, match any of your numbers to any of the four winning numbers and win that prize. Uncover a 10X symbol and you’ll automatically win 10 times that prize. Uncover a win symbol and win all 18 prizes automatically! Overall game odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.76. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1.2 million.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 94 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. Since 2000, Lottery players have contributed $1 billion to public schools each year, and, since we began in 1985, Lottery players have contributed a total of more than $24 billion to education. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
