Dreamers Check Your SuperLotto Plus® Tickets For Second Largest Prize Sold in Los Angeles County

SACRAMENTO, April 4, 2005 – Lottery officials announced that one ticket won last Saturday’s $72 million SuperLotto Plus jackpot. “Check your wallets and your purses, take a close look at your tickets, " advised Acting Lottery Director Chon Gutierrez. “If you shopped at SAV-ON Drugs in Alhambra, you might be the lucky winner of $72 million!”

A single jackpot winner of $72 million who chooses the 26 graduated annual payments would receive approximately $1.8 million the first year and $3.6 million the 26th year (before taxes). A single jackpot winner who chooses the cash option would receive the estimated cash value which is roughly half the announced jackpot or $36 million (before federal withholding).

Saturday’s draw produced 952,256 winning tickets of prizes ranging from $1 to $72 million. The winning jackpot ticket was sold at SAV-ON/OSCO DRUG, 1485 E Valley Blvd. in Alhambra. The $72 million ticket is the second largest prize ever sold in Los Angeles County since the Lottery began. Patricia Frierson won $91 million on August 9, 2003.

SuperLotto Plus can be played at approximately 18,000 retail business establishments around the state. The SuperLotto Plus draw takes place each Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:58 p.m. Players can purchase tickets until 7:45 p.m. on the night of the draw.
