Mom Fulfills Child’s Wish with Lottery Win in LA County

SACRAMENTO – It’s been tugging at Ruth Cendejas’ heart for some time. She’s the mother of two young children. Her son has said many times how he wishes their family could live in a house. “That’s what I should be doing. A mother is supposed to provide for her children,” Cendejas explained. However, despite working two jobs as a nurse technician she simply couldn’t fulfill her son’s wish, until NOW!

Cendejas, who lives in Palmdale, won $1 million on a $10 Wheel of Fortune Scratchers® ticket she purchased while visiting family in Sylmar. “I thought of my kids,” Cendejas said about the moment she won. Now she’s thinking about what to include in a new home. A nice backyard is an absolute must, considering how much her son loves playing soccer. Along with also moving closer to her family, Cendejas revealed a third wish she hopes to fulfill. “I can go to school too,” Cendejas said. “I want to become a nurse.” She had been attending classes, but put her dream on hold to do for her kids.

Cendejas bought her ticket at the 7-Eleven located 11348 Sunburst Street in Sylmar (Los Angeles County). The retailer will receive a bonus of $5,000.
