BREAKING NEWS: Record POWERBALL® Jackpot Grows to $600 Million!
SACRAMENTO – If you thought the last POWERBALL jackpot was huge, this is unbelievable. The estimated POWERBALL jackpot has been increased again. Are you ready for this? It now stands at $600 million. Yes, $600 million! That is a new record jackpot for the POWERBALL game. The figure trounces the old record of $587 million which was set in November of 2012.
We could get used to this. Remember, it was a little over a year ago when Lottery fever had officially gripped the nation. The MEGA Millions® jackpot for the night of March 30, 2012 was a stunning $656 million. That was the largest Lottery jackpot ever won.
Will the POWERBALL jackpot figure increase again and possibly top that? Only time will tell. For now, the estimated cash option for Saturday night’s $600 million jackpot draw is $376.9 million. The retailer who sells the jackpot-winning ticket will receive a bonus of $1 million, which is the largest bonus a retailer can receive. Remember, to be included in Saturday’s huge draw you must purchase your ticket by 7 p.m. on the day of the draw. All sales after that time will be eligible for the next draw.
We know that there is enormous interest in this game. Therefore, we have attached information on the satellite coordinates for the live draw feed from the POWERBALL draw site in Tallahassee, Florida. Should you wish to carry the draws on a continual basis we urge you to please contact the California Lottery’s Corporate Communications office at (916) 822-8131. This way we can gather your name and emergency contact information which we will forward to the Multi State Lottery Association which oversees the draw. MUSL will contact you in the event of any changes to the coordinates.
For media seeking additional information over the weekend on the POWERBALL draw the following Lottery Spokespeople will be available to assist you from Sacramento:
