Lottery Confirms $460,000 Fantasy 5 Ticket Sold at San Diego County Fair
SACRAMENTO – It’s hard to imagine many places more fun than a fair, but on Friday night, one lucky California Lottery player found a way to make their fair experience more fun – by winning the Lottery while they were there.
It all happened at the San Diego County Fair. One fair patron visited the Lottery booth and purchased a Fantasy 5 ticket for Friday’s draw. That ticket successfully matched all five numbers and won a jackpot prize worth $461,407. The winning numbers are 28, 24, 33, 39 and 18.
It was originally reported that the winning ticket was sold at La Jolla Country Market, which is located at 1030 Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla. However, that Lottery retailer is selling tickets at the Fair now through July 4.
The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. A player wins the Fantasy 5 jackpot simply by matching five numbers out of a field of 39. Winning numbers are drawn every day. The top prize starts at $50,000 and increases daily until it is hit. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers.
And be sure to participate in the California Lottery’s Fantasy 5 Bonus Bucks promotion. For every purchase of $5 or more of Fantasy 5 on a single ticket you will automatically receive a Fantasy 5 Bonus Bucks code. The California Lottery is celebrating 25 years of enhancing education and supporting local communities. More than 94 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to the community in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. Since 2000, Lottery players have contributed $1 billion to public schools each year, and, since we began in 1985, Lottery players have contributed more than $23 billion to education.
