SoCal Player Wins $50 Million AND $32,000 On Two SuperLotto Plus® Tickets!
$324 Million Mega Millions® Winning Ticket Still Unclaimed
SACRAMENTO – Here’s a lucky holiday story of one winner and two major prizes. Racy Pel has been playing the same sets of SuperLotto Plus numbers for six years. And last Wednesday it paid off – twice!
Pel purchased $20 worth of SuperLotto Plus tickets. While some were Quick Pick® tickets, it was two tickets that were made up of anniversaries, birthdays and lucky numbers that were the big winners. One of those tickets matched all six winning numbers on December 18th (24, 16, 17, 33, 14, and the Mega number 2.) That jackpot-winning ticket is worth $50 million, with a lump sum cash option of $27.7 million! The other ticket missed just the Mega number and is worth $32,304.
“I purchase the tickets because the money goes back to the schools” Pel said. Pel has three children in public schools and says that he feels it was his way of giving money back to public schools when he purchases California Lottery tickets.
Pel, who works in the computer networking field, says he plans to buy a new car with his $50,032,304 in winnings since his car has a tendency to break down on the way to work. Pel says he purchased the ticket early last week but waited until Christmas Eve to claim his ticket since he had the day off of work.
Both winning tickets were purchased at Finish Line Food Store, which is located at 5084 Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos (Orange County). That lucky retailer will receive a bonus of one half percent or $250,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
At the time of this release, the winner of the $324 million Mega Millions prize on Tuesday, December 17th has not come forward yet.
The Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of your ticket in ink, put it in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit your local Lottery District Office as soon as possible.
