SACRAMENTO -- California Lottery's "Big Spin® 2000" show airs Saturday, June 24, 2000 in twelve television markets statewide. Contestants on this week's show won a total of $467,500.

California Gold contestants won a total of $202,500. Frank Murray of Penn Valley spun the prize wheel and it landed on "TRIPLE". That entitled Murray triple the amount of his second spin. Murray's second spin landed on $60,000 making him the top California Gold winner this week winning $180,000. Other California Gold contestants won a combined total of $22,500.

Letter carrier, Eugenio Griego of Albuquerque N.M., won $75,000 on the Fantasy 5
TM Dream Machine. A housekeeper from Lancaster, Joyce Ocab, won $70,000. Retired Los Angeles resident Henry Malone won $55,000 and Jim Griffin of Mira Loma won $40,000.

Lucille Cascio, a customer service representative from Covina, got three "SPIN" symbols on a "Big Spin 2000" Scratchers® ticket. That ticket got Cascio a direct trip to the show. Once at the show, Cascio spun the largest prize wheel in the world and won $25,000.

The California Lottery sells its products through a network of more than 18,000 outlets statewide. The Lottery provides 52.5 percent of its revenues to players as prizes, 34 percent to public schools and 14 percent for administrative expenses, which includes 6.8 percent for retailer commissions. Since 1985, the Lottery has raised more than $11 billion for public schools. The California Lottery's contribution equals approximately 2 percent of the state's total education budget. "Big Spin® 2000" is the longest running Lottery game show in the country, airing continuously since 1985.
