Man Claims California Lucky for Life Ticket Worth $650,000

SACRAMENTO – Everyone has heard the old saying, “timing is everything.” Well in the case of Miguel Orozco and his wife, this statement couldn’t be truer. The couple recently fell on hard times and ended up losing their house. But their bad fortune quickly changed as the couple walked into the Lottery’s Van Nuys District Office holding a Lucky for Life Scratchers® ticket worth $650,000!

When we asked Mr. Orozco what he planned on doing with his winnings, he didn’t hesitate to answer, “First thing is buy a house!” The lucky couple will have the choice of selecting a $375,000 lump sum payment or payments of $500 a week for 25 years.

Orozco purchased his winning ticket at Kwik Mart, which is located at 7218 Canoga Avenue in Canoga Park (Los Angeles County).

The California Lucky for Life Scratchers family is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for education. Games are available at the $1, $2, $5, and $10 price points. Each price point offers a similar play style. If you match any of your numbers to any of the winning numbers you uncover when you scratch the ticket, then you win that prize. If you uncover a money bag symbol, you automatically win the prize associated with it. And, if you uncover a LIFE symbol, you win the top prize for that game – a prize paid out weekly over the course of 25 years, or available as a lump sum amount. As you move up in price from $1 to $10, you have more chances to win and the potential prizes just keep getting higher.

Starting with the $1 game, players can win prizes ranging from a free ticket all the way up to $500 a week for 25 years or a $375,000 lump sum payment. The $2 ticket offers players the chance to win prizes ranging from a free ticket all the way up to $1,000 a week for 25 years or a $750,000 lump sum payment. The $5 ticket offers players the chance to win prizes ranging from a free ticket all the way up to $2,500 a week for 25 years or a $1.9 million lump sum payment. And finally, the $10 ticket offers players the chance to win prizes ranging from a free ticket all the way up to the grandest prize of all – $5,000 a week for 25 years or a lump sum payment of $3,750,000 – the largest instant prize the Lottery has ever offered.

The winning doesn’t stop there – like all Lottery Scratchers games, the California Lucky for Life games come with second chances to win the top prizes. Just subscribe to our 2nd Chance Program and submit any non-winning California Lucky for Life Scratchers ticket code for a chance to win.
