Big Winner is Ready for a Vacation

eduardo Hernandez 440

Southern California Cook Wins $6.5 Million Top Prize
SACRAMENTO – Eduardo Hernandez walked into the California Lottery’s Santa Fe Springs District Office yesterday to claim his Lucky for Life prize. There was just one slight problem though, he didn’t have a ticket. But that’s because Hernandez actually mailed in his $10 Lucky for Life Scratchers® ticket worth a whopping $6.5 million. Hernandez admitted to us that he didn’t know you could claim a prize in person at one of our district offices. He was just so excited and nervous about the win that he filled out the back of his ticket, signed it and sent it off. The 42-year-old cook also told us that even if he did know you could claim a prize at one of our district offices, he wouldn’t have had time because he works so much.

Hernandez explained to us that he’s worked for the past seven to eight years without taking a single vacation. So he was pretty ecstatic when he told us “I don’t have to work anymore!” Although he plans on taking a much-deserved and lengthy vacation, the hard-working Hernandez won’t be relaxing for too long. He told us that he plans to invest his money and also start his own business. Hernandez will have the option of selecting a lump sum payment of $3 million or weekly payments of $5,000 a week for 25 years.

Hernandez purchased his winning Lucky for Life Scratchers ticket at West 7 Liquor, which is located at 707 Western Avenue in Los Angeles (Los Angeles County). The lucky retailer will receive a bonus of $32,500 just for selling the winning ticket.
