Winner Celebrates Lottery Win in Riverside County in Grand Fashion!

Share:

SACRAMENTO – Think about this for a second. How would you react if you discovered that you had just won the Lottery? Be honest now. Because Leonard Kammes is coming clean about what he just did.

The 52-year-old Temecula man says he had just gotten his morning coffee, when he opened up the paper and discovered that his ticket matched all five numbers in Tuesday’s Fantasy 5 drawing. That’s a win worth $185,683! Talk about an adrenaline rush. Leonard says he immediately threw his ticket up in the air and then this – “Out the front door, I ran in my pajamas!” You heard the man. Leonard admits he bolted outside while wearing his jammies, caring very little about what others might think. It was such a sight, a man working on a home down the street even stopped to see if Leonard was okay. “You don’t look too good. Are you alright?” is what Leonard says the man asked him. The worker even went so far as to question whether he needed an ambulance. Leonard says he finally caught his breath long enough to share the good news. “I’m OK. I just won the lottery!”

The story is priceless and so is what Leonard says this win means not just for him, but his entire family. “This will help my wife get out of her job to help take care of our new grandchild,” Leonard explained. “This will open up so many doors for my kids … knowing that Grandma’s watching their kids. They’re being fed right, being cared for properly.”

Leonard bought his ticket at the Albertsons located at 39140 Winchester Road in Murrieta. It successfully matched the numbers 9, 13, 32, 35 and 12. As you see in his picture posted below, he was dressed appropriately when he claimed his ticket at the Lottery’s Inland Empire District Office in San Bernardino. “I’ll never forget it,” Leonard said of the experience. Neither will we!

Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. A player wins the Fantasy 5 jackpot simply by matching five numbers out of a field of 39. Winning numbers are drawn every day. The top prize starts at $50,000 and increases daily until it is hit. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers.

And be sure to participate in the California Lottery’s Fantasy 5 – 2nd Chance promotion. For every purchase of $5 or more of Fantasy 5 on a single ticket you will automatically receive a Fantasy 5 – 2nd Chance code. Enter the code at http://www.calottery.com/play/second-chance/fantasy-5-second-chance to participate in weekly draws for a chance to win cash prizes up to $10,000.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 96 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
