Winning MEGA Millions® Ticket Sold in Hacienda Heights Finally Claimed!
SACRAMENTO – We’ve been waiting quite a while for this, but a winning MEGA Millions ticket has finally been claimed. The ticket was sold in Hacienda Heights (Los Angeles County) for the draw on December 18, 2012. It was one of two sold for that draw that successfully matched five numbers, missing only the Mega number. Each winning ticket was worth $446,292.
One winner claimed his ticket the very next day. That left us to wonder, who had the other one? Now we know. There’s not just one other winner…try 16! The Hacienda Heights ticket was sold to a group of friends and family members who had formed a pool to buy tickets.
The group designated Jose Moreno as the person who would represent them in claiming their prize. The group bought the winning ticket at Market One Liquor, which is located at 16052 Gale Avenue in Hacienda Heights. It matched the numbers 7, 18, 29, 1, and 6, missing only the Mega number of 16.
Could you be next? The jackpot for tonight’s MEGA Millions draw is $12 million. What would your friends and family say if you were to win that? The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their ticket, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
