MEGA Millions® Ticket Sold in Panorama City Claimed

SACRAMENTO – The MEGA Millions ticket sold in Panorama City for the October 10, 2012 draw was claimed late yesterday by Laura Enriquez. Enriquez came into the Lottery’s Van Nuys District Office to claim a prize worth $444,824.

Enriquez says she has been “excited but nervous” since finding out she won last week after checking her ticket back at the retailer where she purchased it. She explained, “I haven’t been able to sleep, I hid it in my purse!” She says she won’t retire from her job, but doesn’t yet know how she will spend her prize.

Enriquez’ ticket was sold at Island Pacific Supermarket, which is located at 8340 Van Nuys Boulevard, Unit 8 in Panorama City (Los Angeles County). The ticket matched five numbers – 37, 46, 52, 13, 40 missing only the Mega number of 29.

In order to claim a MEGA Millions prize, players must present to the Lottery the actual winning ticket. As a multistate game, MEGA Millions is played in California and 43 other jurisdictions (41 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a Mega number from 1 to 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s MEGA Millions site for more information.

As jackpots rise, the California Lottery would like to remind players that gambling should be fun. Borrowing money to play, spending above a person’s budget or using money intended for other purposes can ultimately lead to significant problems for players and their families. If a player recognizes that they have a gambling problem or if they know someone who may have a problem, the Lottery recommends calling the Problem Gambling Help Line at 1-800-GAMBLER.

And remember, checking the daily draw results is easier than ever. All past and current Lottery draw results can be obtained for FREE by dialing 1-800-LOTTERY and selecting option 2, or via our website at

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 94 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
