Big Time Money Streak Continues for L.A. County Man

$650,000 California Lucky for Life Prize is Third Large Scratchers® Win for Sun Valley Resident!
SACRAMENTO – When you’re hot, you’re hot – and Kurt Robbins is certainly on fire. The 52-year old Los Angeles County man has won the Lottery again. This time, he turned a $1 investment into a $650,000 top prize, after his California Lucky for Life Scratchers ticket revealed the lucky square that read “LIFE.” “I hugged the guy in the store and then went back to work and yelled and screamed and raised a ruckus!” Robbins confessed. “It’s amazing. I just never thought I’d hit this (amount).”

Then again, Robbins concedes he probably shouldn’t be that surprised, considering how many times he’s come up big over the past decade playing Scratchers. He claims he not only won $47,777 on a Sapphire Blue 7’s ticket, but he also walked away with a $20,000 Tropical Cash Scratchers prize. Those wins don’t even include “small amounts” such as the $1,000 Robbins took home recently. “When you think about it…the odds, no matter how many you buy…to win three top prizes (and a lot of money in smaller wins), I’m just very fortunate,” Robbins admitted.

The lumber company manager says he plans on using some of his latest winnings to buy a new car for his wife and put a down payment on a retirement home in Nicaragua. “My wife is from there. It’s beautiful – right on the Pacific Coast, 80-degree water. It’s gorgeous.”

Robbins purchased his winning California Lucky for Life ticket at Solaris Liquor, which is located at 2036 E. Thompson Boulevard in Ventura (Ventura County). There’s no need to wonder whether Robbins plans to continue playing the Lottery. “I got $40 in my pocket right now. I’ll probably stop on the way home and get a soda and something to munch on, and I’ll probably grab a couple of Scratchers. I still want to win $1 million!” he laughed.

The California Lucky for Life Scratchers family is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for education.
