$1.2 Million Powerball® Ticket Sold In Los Angeles

SACRAMENTO – The Powerball jackpot was a cool $100 million last night, and one lucky California Lottery ticket was just one number away from hitting it. Although the ticket narrowly missed the massive jackpot, whoever purchased it will still be walking away with a boatload of cash. That’s because the ticket correctly matched five out of six numbers and is worth $1,249,351!

The ticket correctly matched the numbers 32, 23, 47, 39 and 49, missing only the Powerball number of 22. The winning ticket was purchased at Discount Cigarettes, which is located at 1804-7 South La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles. Discount Cigarettes is a winner as well picking up a bonus of $6,246.75 or one half of one percent of the winning amount just for selling the winning ticket. Since there was no jackpot winner last night, Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $114 million.

Powerball is a multistate game played in California (and 42 other states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. PST. Tickets sales are suspended from 7:00 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. the day of the draw. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s Powerball site for more information on how to play.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
