$750,000 Winner in Santa Cruz County

SACRAMENTO – What could be better than hanging out on the beach in sunny Santa Cruz? How about winning three quarters of a million dollars?! Manuel Escobar-Martinez was the latest lucky lottery player to purchase a top prize-winning Bonus Crossword Scratchers® ticket worth $750,000!

Manuel didn’t know right away how much he had won, but he told us that he knew he scratched off a lot of words, so he had a feeling he won a lot of money – and that he did. Manuel, who was born in El Salvador, said he hadn’t been to his native country in over 20 years, so he planned on using some of his winnings to take a long overdue trip back. As far as the rest of the money goes, he said he hadn’t thought that far ahead yet.

Manuel purchased the winning ticket at Quality Market, which is located at 221 Riverside Avenue in Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz County). Click here for information on how to play Bonus Crossword Scratchers.

The winning certainly doesn’t stop there – like all Lottery Scratchers games, the Bonus Crossword game comes with a second chance to win the top prize. Just subscribe to our 2nd Chance Program and submit any non-winning Bonus Crossword Scratchers ticket codes for another chance to win. The game is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for California public schools.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. In FY 2013-14, the Lottery created 89 new millionaires. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
