Sweet Win Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

Two Powerball® Tickets Worth More Than $1.2 Million Each

SACRAMENTO – What’s better than receiving flowers and chocolate on Valentine’s Day? How about a boatload of cash! That’s what two California Lottery players will be getting after matching five of six numbers in last night’s Powerball draw to win $1,294,116 each. Both tickets successfully matched the numbers 54, 37, 34, 25 and 24 – missing only the Powerball number of 29.

One of the tickets was purchased at Moreno Valley Fastrip, which is located at 23991 Sunnymead Boulevard in Moreno Valley (Riverside County). The other ticket was purchased at the ARCO ampm located at 2225 16th Street in Sacramento (Sacramento County). Since both tickets are worth over $1 million, each retailer will receive a bonus of half of 1% of the prize, which in this case will be a bonus of about $6,470.

No one matched all six numbers in last night’s Powerball draw, so Wednesday’s jackpot soars to an estimated $284 million.

Powerball is a multistate game played in California (and 42 other states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. PST. Tickets sales are suspended from 7:00 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. the day of the draw. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s Powerball site for more information on how to play.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
