Camino Man Claims $289K POWERBALL® Ticket

One Sacramento County Ticket Worth Same Amount Remains Unclaimed!

SACRAMENTO – It started out as a routine conversation, but in the blink of an eye, you might say William Gregor’s e-mail exchange with his daughter turned “rich” with a mixture of disbelief and excitement. “I thought someone was messing with me at first,” he explained.

The 67-year old Camino resident says his daughter, who lives on the East Coast, was every bit as skeptical as he was. “She thought I was joking! I told her I would call her after I confirmed my numbers,” explained Gregor.

A few careful checks of the California Lottery website did indeed confirm what he was hoping for! Gregor correctly picked all five white numbers (5, 25, 30, 58 and 59), missing only the Powerball number of 32. His Powerball number was 22. If only that “two” had been a “three!” “Well, it’s the luck of the draw,” reasoned Gregor. “I’m quite happy with what I have.” Who can blame him?

Along with eight other California five of six winners (including an unclaimed ticket sold in Sacramento County), Gregor is getting a check for $289,341. So what’s he going to do with the money? “Invest it,” he said. Will he be sharing the news with people at work? “No. As far as I’m concerned, nobody needs to know.” he added. OK, it will be our little secret! Gregor say he prefers to continue living the quiet life in El Dorado County without any of the attention that comes with winning the Lottery.

Gregor purchased his ticket August 3rd at the Camino Food Center, which is located at 4124 Carson Road in Camino (El Dorado County).
