$283,000 Fantasy 5 Ticket from Ventura Claimed

SACRAMENTO – Donald Covarrubias is a regular kind of guy and follows a regular routine. He goes to work every day, but usually stops at a local store to get a soda on the way, and sometimes buys Lottery tickets there too. But this time, his routine changed a bit. Because after work on the night of March 26, he checked his Fantasy 5 ticket and realized he had won the $283,236 top prize from the draw earlier that evening. So what did he do the next day? “I got no sleep that night but the next day I went to work like usual – and then I asked for a day off so I could come in and claim my prize,” he explained.

Covarrubias bought his winning ticket at Kwiki Mart, which is located at 893 E. Thompson Boulevard in Ventura (Ventura County). His ticket matched the numbers 1, 3, 32, 28 and 33.

The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible.
Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. A player wins the Fantasy 5 top prize simply by matching five numbers out of a field of 39. Winning numbers are drawn every day.
