The folks at Primm Valley LOTTO store are celebrating, and with good reason. On November 15th, Joan Wilson, the California Lottery's Executive Director, presented manager Peggy Blomstedt with a Gold Lottery terminal and announced that this store is the Lottery Retailer of the Year for 2001. The Primadonna Company, a subsidiary of MGM Mirage and owner of the store, also had representatives on hand to witness the award.
In addition to the gold terminal, Manager Peggy Blomstedt was presented with a California Lottery plague proclaiming the store Retailer of the Year and a check for $5,000! The Primm Valley store was selected based on sales, merchandising, community involvement and ability to provide excellent customer service to Lottery players.
There's no getting around it. Primm Valley LOTTO store is the Superstore of Lottery retailers. With its six terminals, multiple vending machines and multiple playcenters, this store has the best set-up in the state to sell Lottery products. As a result, the Primm Valley LOTTO store averages over $110,000 a week in Lottery sales and sales have jumped to almost $500,000 a week during high jackpots! Even with eight terminals, the crowds can grow so large that people have to wait as long as six hours to buy Lottery tickets!
Half the store is dedicated to the Lottery, both Scratchers and on-line games. An entire wall looks like one giant playcenter. In the middle of the store are six more playcenters, and there are ropes aisles set up to direct lines of people who want to purchase Lottery products. As you enter the store, there are LED signs on the back wall, announcing jackpots and numbers for games such as Fantasy 5. Outside, two lottery banners and a giant "LOTTO" sign announce the store as a Lottery retailer.
While this is not a heavily populated area, there is a close-knit community of people in and around Primm. On holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter, Peggy Blomstedt and her crew make sure complete holiday meals are packaged and distributed to needy families in the area.
