MEGA Millions® Prize Worth More Than $100K Expires in One Week

SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players need to check their glove compartments and the bottoms of their purses because a winning MEGA Millions ticket purchased in Los Gatos is still outstanding and expires Thursday, November 12. The ticket hit five of six winning numbers in the May 15 drawing, missing only the Mega number, and is worth $103,875. Another ticket bought in Sylmar for the same draw has already been claimed.

The Los Gatos winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 657 North Santa Cruz Avenue. The winning numbers are 48, 12, 24, 7, 36, and the Mega number is 27.

The California Lottery wants to remind winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days to claim prizes.

MEGA Millions is a multistate game, played in California and 11 other states.  Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a Mega number from 1 to 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s MEGA Millions site for more information.

More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, Lottery players have contributed nearly $21 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $56 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.6 billion in compensation since 1985.
