POWERBALL® Ticket Worth Over $500,000 is Claimed

SACRAMENTO – Concepcion Rosales didn’t waste any time claiming her Lottery winnings. On Saturday night, Rosales was one of two Lottery players to match five out of six POWERBALL numbers and win $501,893. Yesterday was the first day she could claim her hefty prize, so she paid a visit to the California Lottery’s Santa Fe Springs District Office and did exactly that.
Rosales says she’s thanking God for her financial windfall. It’s been a difficult time lately for her and her family since she can only find part-time work. Concepcion says the money will come in handy since she’s planning to help her family members as much as she can during this tough time.

Rosales purchased her ticket at the Arco located at 3949 Dennison Street in Los Angeles. The other winning ticket, which remains unclaimed, was sold at Rotten Robbie, which is located at 2725 South Main Street in Lakeport (Lake County). Both tickets successfully matched the numbers 6, 39, 8, 30 and 48, missing only the Powerball number of 20.
Since no one hit Saturday night’s POWERBALL jackpot, Wednesday’s jackpot is an estimated $116 million. The estimated cash value is $75.6 million.
The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their ticket, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.

POWERBALL is a multistate game, played in California and 44 other jurisdictions (42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Players pick five numbers from 1 to 59 plus a Powerball number from 1 to 35. Draw times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. PST. Tickets sales are suspended from 7:00 PM to 7:05 PM the day of the draw. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s POWERBALL site for more information.
