Man Double Happy After Claiming Winning MEGA Millions® Ticket Sold in El Segundo – Ticket Sold in San Gabriel Still Unclaimed

SACRAMENTO – Happiness turned into all out joy in the middle of a liquor store in El Segundo. That’s where Sith Nip discovered he had hit the Lottery.

“Wow! I won $269. Awesome!” said Nip after he checked the MEGA Millions ticket he had bought for last Tuesday night’s draw. Then, he noticed the extra numbers on that win message. Not $269. His ticket had actually scored $269,746! You want to talk about excitement. The possibilities just opened up for this guy. “It’s a lot of money. I’m thinking of maybe putting a down payment on a house,” which Nip said, up until a few days ago, had seemed “almost unlikely, practically unlikely.”

Nip’s ticket successfully matched the numbers 9, 52, 13, 22, 38, missing only the Mega number of 44. That was close. So close, Nip jokes, that he simply must play the Lottery again. “This is good, but not good enough. I’m not greedy. I just want to hit the jackpot once.”

Nip bought his lucky ticket at Leonard’s Liquor, which is located at 630 North Sepulveda Boulevard in El Segundo. He’s not the only one. Another ticket hit the same numbers, but we’re still waiting for that winner to come forward. The other winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven at 6915 North Rosemead in San Gabriel. So, check your tickets and you could be the one smiling.

The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their ticket, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
