$2.1 Million Powerball® Ticket sold in Hayward
Northern California’s Hot Streak Continues
SACRAMENTO – A Hayward Powerball player can now add the word “Millionaire” to his or her title. That’s because the lucky player won $2,198,310 after matching five of six numbers in last night’s draw.
The winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store located at 130 Harder Road in Hayward (Alameda County). It successfully matched the numbers 34, 23, 43, 19 and 2, missing only the Powerball number of 14. The store owner will receive a retailer bonus of nearly $11,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Northern California is on one heck of a winning streak right now. On Tuesday night, a Mega Millions® ticket sold in San Bruno also matched five numbers and is now worth $1.9 million. Earlier this month, a Powerball ticket sold in McClellan hit a $60 million jackpot, and in February a Powerball player in Milpitas won a $425 million jackpot (that winner has still not come forward).
The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
