Unlucky Orange County Man Experiences Thrill of Lottery Victory!

SACRAMENTO – Wait until you hear how a road trip paid off for an Orange County man. Everett Lamkin says he felt lucky, which is why he was meeting a friend at a casino. “I went down. I had a feeling I was gonna win,” Lamkin said. But before he made it there, he stopped at a convenience store in Temecula to grab something to drink. On a whim, he also bought four $5 California Lottery Scratchers® tickets. He didn’t check them though. After all, Lamkin had his sights set on that flashy casino.

Unfortunately, Lamkin wasn’t having any luck there, so he says he went to his room to check his tickets. Low and behold, this unlucky man was suddenly experiencing the thrill of Lottery victory! In his hands was a 20X The Money Scratchers ticket revealing a top prize win of $200,000!

“I didn’t believe it,” Lamkin said. “I folded it up and went to the car and drove to the local store and had it scanned.” Now, we know what you’re probably thinking, but you’re wrong. Lamkin insists he didn’t test his luck again in the casino. “After I won that, I didn’t play anymore. I drove home and told my kids.”

Lamkin says he has three kids, including a 19-year-old who is ready to make the jump from a community college to a four year university. These Lottery winnings will certainly come in handy for that. Lamkin also plans to try his luck by investing some of his money.

As for the name and location of that lucky retailer: Lamkin bought his ticket at the Circle K located at 44520 Bedford Court in Temecula (Riverside County). You can get more information on how to play 20X The Money Scratchers by clicking here.

The winning certainly doesn’t stop there – like all Lottery Scratchers games, the 20X The Money game comes with a second chance to win the top prize. Just subscribe to our 2nd Chance Program and submit any non-winning 20X The Money Scratchers ticket codes for another chance to win. The game is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for California public schools.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
