Two Lucky Players Win $750,000 & $369,000
SACRAMENTO – It was a busy week for retailers and players across Southern California. Two lucky California Lottery players struck it rich in the Southland.
The lucky California Lottery winners for the week in the L.A. area are:
• Maria Velazquez won $750,000 on a 20x Crossword Scratchers® ticket she purchased at the CVS Pharmacy located at 4909 Paramount Boulevard in Lakewood (Los Angeles County).
• Hugo Ramirez won $369,978 by matching five of six winning numbers on a POWERBALL® ticket he purchased at Dick’s Palm Tree Liquor, which is located at 3014 North Studebaker Road in Long Beach (Los Angeles County).
There could be more lucky Californians as tonight’s MEGA Millions® jackpot has grown to $77 million. And, not to be outdone, Saturday’s POWERBALL jackpot is now at $142 million. Winning numbers for both games can be found at www.calottery.com shortly after the 7:59 p.m. draw times.
The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 96 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
