Stunning Surprise as Man Claims MEGA Millions® Ticket Worth $729,000 in Los Angeles County!

SACRAMENTO – A man has claimed the MEGA Millions ticket sold at an Inglewood gas station that won big on Friday. The ticket matched five numbers, missing only the Mega number to score a whopping $729,017! What’s even more exciting about this win is that the winner, Andrew Fair, told us he had no idea how much he had won until he claimed his ticket at the California Lottery’s Santa Fe Springs District Office.

Picture this – Andrew had been flitting about all weekend long believing that he had won roughly $7,000. He was pretty happy about it too. “Oh, yes! Excited,” Andrew said. So imagine his surprise when he got to the Lottery’s District Office and he heard the actual prize was 100 times that amount.

Andrew told us he was initially thinking about putting his smaller win in the bank, and now? “I’m thinking, house!” he said. He had purchased five tickets for that draw and used Quick Pick®.

The ticket was sold at the WOWSJ Mart located at 145 East Manchester Boulevard in Inglewood. It correctly matched five out of six numbers in the draw. These numbers: 3-14-17-40-50, missing only the Mega number of 3.

The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.

MEGA Millions is a multistate game, played in California and 44 other jurisdictions (42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
