Big Powerball® Win in Oakland!

Share:

SACRAMENTO – Check your wallet, the console of your car or your sock drawer. If you happened to have purchased a Powerball ticket in Oakland recently, there are thousands upon thousands of reasons you want to find it. One lucky ticket sold there scored a big win over the weekend by matching five of the six numbers in Saturday night’s draw and is now worth $374,181!

We won’t know who this lucky winner is until they claim their prize, but here’s what you need to look for: This ticket was purchased at Da Huong Sandwich and Coffee, which is located at 605 East 12th Street in Oakland (Alameda County). It successfully matched the numbers 53-8-54-27, and 13, missing only the red Powerball number 4.

The winner is strongly encouraged to immediately sign the back of their ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place where they’ll remember, then familiarize themselves with the Lottery’s Winner’s Handbook which can be found here. California’s latest Powerball winner should visit any of the nine Lottery District Offices during normal business hours to claim this ticket and their fabulous prize!

Remember, you must have your original ticket when claiming any Powerball prize, so be sure you don’t forget and leave it at the store!

Powerball is played in 44 states (plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. PT. The draw closes at 7 p.m., so players must buy their tickets by then. (Sales for the next draw begin at 7:05 p.m.) Tickets are $2 and can be purchased from any of the more than 22,000 California Lottery retailers or one of the more than 4,000 Lottery Lucky Retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s Powerball site for more information on how to play.

Powerball is a part of the Lottery’s continued effort to create more winners and more importantly, earn more money for California public schools!

The California Lottery is a $6 billion enterprise based in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the State’s General Fund. Its mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. In FY 2016-17, the Lottery created 83 new millionaires. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets.
