SACRAMENTO – When Jose Meija called his wife to tell her that he was a $1 million lottery winner, her response was simply “you’re crazy.” But she was a big believer as they both walked into the California Lottery’s Van Nuys District Office holding a $250 Million Cash Spectacular Scratchers ticket worth $1 million.

When asked what his first reaction was to winning $1 million, Meija said “I was nervous.” But Meija was all smiles as he claimed his prize, telling us that the one thing he will certainly do with his winnings is pay off his house

Meija bought his ticket at the Alta Dena Dairy located at 8620 Woodman Avenue in Arleta (Los Angeles County). The retailer is a winner too. Alta Dena Dairy will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
