$1 Mega Millions® Ticket Leads to $233,000 Win!

$30 Million Jackpot Ticket Purchased in LA Remains UNCLAIMED

SACRAMENTO – It was a weekend Deogracias Pingul will never forget. That’s because the Union City lottery player is $233,000 richer after just spending $1 on a Mega Millions Quick Pick®.

Pingul, who describes himself as “a regular lottery player,” told the California Lottery that he won a dollar on another game and figured he would just buy a Mega Millions Quick Pick since it was only a buck.

That decision paid off big time after he matched five of the six numbers in Friday night’s drawing, winning $233,651. That lucky ticket was purchased at Island Pacific Supermarket, which is located at 4122 Dyer Street in Union City (Alameda County). It matched the winning numbers 15, 10, 54, 1, 41, missing only Mega number 9.

Meanwhile, the $30 million jackpot winner who matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions drawing Friday night still has not come forward. That lucky ticket was purchased at the Century City 76 station located at 10389 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles. That lucky retailer picks up a bonus of $150,000, or one half of one percent.

The California Lottery strongly urges the lucky winner to sign the back of their ticket in ink, obviously keep it in a safe place and visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Jackpot winners have a full year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes.

Mega Millions is played in California (and 42 other states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. PST. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 California Lottery retailers. Please visit the California Lottery’s Mega Millions site for more information on how to play.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
