Lottery Unveils Wheel of Fortune® Scratchers® Series

Share:

Fortune is Calling! Players Will “Spin” for Chance to Win up to $1 Million Top Prize

SACRAMENTO –The California Lottery has rolled out its very first game show game – the Wheel of Fortune family of Scratchers, affording lottery players a new spin on playing one of America’s most iconic game shows.

The California Lottery is collaborating with MDI Entertainment, LLC to offer Wheel of Fortune games at three different price points ($2, $5 and $10). With their Scratchers ticket, players have the opportunity to walk away with top prizes ranging from $20,000 up to $1 million!

“We’re proud to offer our players another round of fun Scratchers games,” said Paula LaBrie, Acting Director of the California Lottery. “Not only will the Wheel of Fortune family of games give our players a choice between three price points, but we’ll add some exciting bonus opportunities to round out the experience.”

Players have between 11 and 21 chances to win a prize, depending on the price point. All of the games include potential “multipliers” where players can win up to 20 times their prize amount, again depending on the denomination. Each game also has a “Fast Spin” box, for a chance at winning between $25 and $100 instant cash. To play Wheel of Fortune, simply match any of “YOUR NUMBERS” to any of the “WHEEL NUMBERS” to win that prize. Check here for more information.

The winning doesn’t stop there! Players can also enter special 2nd Chance bonus draws for chances to win 15 cash prizes of up to $5,000 each, as well as five Wheel of Fortune Hollywood Experience trips with an audition for the chance to be a contestant on TV’s Wheel of Fortune. These prizes are in addition to the standard end of game and quarterly pool drawings. Players simply subscribe to our 2nd Chance Program and submit any non-winning Wheel of Fortune Scratchers ticket code for a chance to win.

Wheel of Fortune Scratchers are also being supported by television and radio advertising in major California markets. You might even find yourself singing to our television spot! The 30 second “spin-themed” commercial features the catchy 1984 tune “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) by British Band “Dead or Alive.”

The Wheel of Fortune Scratchers family is part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for education.

About Wheel of Fortune
Wheel of Fortune has been the number one syndicated game show since its inception and has earned six Emmy Awards, including the 2011 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. With more than 30 million viewers per week, syndication’s most successful series continues to attract a larger audience than many primetime television shows.  Wheel of Fortune is produced in High Definition by Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company. It is distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Studios International, both units of CBS Corp.

The mission of the California Lottery is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. More than 95 cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
