California Lucky Life Scratchers® Player Wins $1.3 Million While on Family Trip!
SACRAMENTO – Eva Ruiz’s purchase of a $2 California Lucky Life Scratchers ticket has made her and her family $1.3 million richer! The Pacoima resident told the California Lottery that she was visiting family over the weekend when she and her husband decided to stop at Nellie’s Market (816 North Vermont Avenue) in Los Angeles to buy a single $2 lottery ticket.
What makes this win even better is she scratched the ticket in the store and instantly realized she was a huge winner.
“I couldn’t believe it when the clerk told me that I was a big winner,” Ruiz said.
What does Ruiz plan to do with her newfound fortune? “I want to buy a house with the money,” the dental assistant explained.
Ruiz had the option of taking $1.3 million, which would have paid $1,000 a week for 25 years, but instead decided to take the lump sum amount of $750,000.
