Six California Players Win $250,000 Each as POWERBALL® Jackpot Soars to $475 Million!
MEGA Millions® Jackpot Climbs to $190 Million
SACRAMENTO – Six POWERBALL players across our state matched five numbers in last night’s POWERBALL drawing, just missing the Powerball number and the $360 million jackpot.
Those six tickets for last night’s POWERBALL draw had the five winning numbers of 2, 11, 26, 34, and 41, but missed the Powerball number 32. That means the six winners split the prize of $1,537,902, making each winning ticket worth $256,317.
Three winning tickets were purchased in the Bay Area. Those tickets were purchased in San Jose, Fremont, and El Sobrante. One was purchased in Huntington Beach, another was purchased in Visalia, and the last one was purchased in Primm Valley, which is on the California border on the way to Las Vegas.
Saturday’s POWERBALL drawing will be worth an estimated $475 million, making it the second-largest POWERBALL jackpot in the game’s history, and the third-largest jackpot in lottery history.
California’s other multi-state draw game, MEGA Millions, is on a steady climb as well, with tomorrow’s jackpot worth an estimated $190 million.
The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their ticket, keep tickets in a safe place and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes.
