SACRAMENTO – California Lottery players have a chance at two jackpots worth a combined $136 million tonight and tomorrow. Tonight’s MEGA Millions jackpot has grown to $113 million and is the largest jackpot in the nation. Saturday night’s SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot is at $23 million.
Although no one won the jackpots earlier this week in either the MEGA Millions or SuperLOTTO Plus games, more than 342,000 players won $1,457,280 in prizes, and eight of those players won a total of $288,580!
Tickets for both games cost $1 each. Players can choose to play the “California Combo,” which is five Quick Pick tickets for MEGA Millions and five Quick Pick tickets for SuperLOTTO Plus, all in one transaction. Authorized retailers can be found by visiting www.calottery.com/locations.
As jackpots rise, the California Lottery would like to remind players that gambling should be fun. More than 95 cents of every Lottery dollar is returned to the community in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retail commissions. The California Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to California schools out of total sales of nearly $55 billion. Retailers benefit too, earning $3.5 billion in compensation since 1985.
