MEGA Winner in Southern California - Studio City Businesswoman Wins $60 Million

STUDIO CITY – After a highly publicized search, Zorina Kroop, a local business owner from Studio City, has come forward as the lucky winner of the $60 Million MEGA Millions jackpot drawn on Friday, September 21, 2007!  Kroop is the 22nd millionaire crowned by the California Lottery in 2007!

"The California Lottery is proud to be a part of every community in the state – from employees, to retailers, to education contributions, to prize winners," said California Lottery Director Joan Borucki as she presented Kroop with a check for $60 million at a press conference in Van Nuys.  "On behalf of all California Lottery employees, I am happy to present you with your $60 million prize!"

The winning combination for the MEGA Millions draw on Friday, September 21, was 5, 21, 23, 33, 45 and MEGA Number 43.  Kroop purchased the winning MEGA Millions ticket at 7-Eleven in Studio City.  As the retailer who sold the winning ticket, this 7-Eleven location will receive a bonus of $300,000.

The California State Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes.  Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to California school out of total sales of more than $52 billion.  Retailers win too, earning $3.3 billion in compensation since 1985.
