SACRAMENTO – Sales are up for both the MEGA Millions and SuperLOTTO Plus games this week as a result of two enormous jackpots being offered by the California Lottery . Friday night’s MEGA Millions jackpot is at $201 million and Saturday night’s SuperLOTTO Plus jackpot is at $80 million.
Players of either game may purchase tickets for the current jackpots until 7:45 p.m. on the evening of the draw; MEGA Millions on Friday and SuperLOTTO Plus on Saturday. Tickets for all Lottery games are available at the Lottery’s over 19,000 retail locations statewide.
“Our sales totals reflect that Californians are excited about the two HUGE multi-million dollar jackpots available right now,” said California State Lottery Director Joan Borucki. “However, when we see an increase in jackpot amounts, we want to remind the public to please play responsibly.”
As the jackpots rise, the California Lottery would like to remind players that gambling should be fun. If you think that you or someone you care about might have a gambling problem, call the California Problem Gambling Help Line at 1-800-GAMBLER.
The California State Lottery contributes at least 34 cents of every dollar that players spend on Lottery products to public education and returns more than 50 percent of sales to players in the form of prizes. Since its inception in 1985, the Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to California schools out of total sales of more than $52 billion. Retailers win too, earning $3.3 billion in compensation since 1985.
