SACRAMENTO - Viewers of "The Big Spin" Show this week may recognize one of the contestants’ names. That’s because the daughter of one of this week’s Fantasy 5 Dream Machine players appeared on the show in 2005. How would you remember her? Trica Barnett won $3 million on the Big Spin prize wheel. Luck must run in the Barnett family! This show, which aired statewide Saturday, February 3, 2007, handed out cash prizes totaling $242,500.
Clarence Barnett, a retiree from Gardena, is a friend with a big heart and it shows. He plans to use his $65,000 prize from the Dream Machine to help a friend suffering from an illness. Barnett’s daughter, Trica, appeared on the show in November of 2005 and played her way to $3 million after defeating nine other contestants on Aces High for a chance to turn the Big Spin Wheel. Host Pat Finn remembered that Trica had three jobs when she was on the show. When asked if she still did, Mr. Barnett didn’t hesitate to say, "No!"
Ron Ghaemmaghami, an engineer from Milpitas, was so excited that he was appearing on The Big Spin Show that he couldn’t think straight, he knows exactly what he is going to spend his $25,000 prize on. "Since I lost my job two months ago this will help pay the bills until the next job," said Ghaemmaghami.
John Molloy, a retired postal clerk from Petaluma, wasn’t thinking of himself when got his chance at the Fantasy 5 Dream Machine. "My wife wants a new kitchen," explained Molloy. With an $85,000 win that should be some kitchen!
Maria Perez from Bakersfield outplayed nine other contestants in Aces High, sending her to The Big Spin wheel for a $50,000 win! "I would love to buy myself a house and my daughter a house with this prize," said Perez.
