SACRAMENTO – Have you ever had any leftover cash after filling up your gas tank? Why not buy some Scratchers® tickets! That’s what one of our contestants did and it landed him on The Big Spin® show. With this week’s contestants winning $157,500 in cash prizes, you can imagine that more players will start using their spare change to buy Scratchers tickets for their chance to go to The Big Spin® show. The program aired statewide Saturday, December 2, 2006.
Michael Ellison, from the town of Alta, was the lucky Aces High winner to go to The Big Spin wheel. After filling his car up with gas, Ellison, husband and father of four children, decided to use the $3 in cash he had leftover to buy Big Spin Scratchers tickets. He uncovered “TV Show” three times on one ticket,
instantly sent him to the Aces High game and then on to The Big Spin wheel! This last minute decision made him $75,000 richer! Ellison pumps concrete for a living and with his winnings plans to build a house on land that he already owns. He and his family have a great foundation to start with!
Grant Haddox, a self-employed painting contractor from Santa Clara, was very excited when he uncovered “Spin-Spin-Spin” on his Big Spin ticket. With the odds being what they are, he was feeling like one lucky man! As his wife cheered him on, Haddox spun the wheel and won $60,000. He is going to set up a college fund for his two children, buy vintage Mercury and possibly vacation in Maui. Sounds like he definitely knows what he wants!
